Oct 08, 2015 How to get static IPv6 addresses from Comcast? - Comcast I am a Comcast business customers and just had my modem swaped out for one that supports IPv6. I have a block of IPv6 addresses but the tech didn't know how to assign a static IPv6 address. He suggested I contact Comcast customer support. I called Microsoft and was told I needed to call AT&T to make sure specific ports were open. I called AT&T and was told how to set up an IP passthrough for the Xbox. The Teredo client cannot localize a relay by itself (since it cannot send IPv6 packets by itself). If it needs to initiate a connection to a native IPv6 host, it sends the first packet through the Teredo server, which sends a packet to the native IPv6 host using the client's Teredo IPv6 address. Teredo is an IPv6 over IPv4 tunneling protocol developed by Microsoft. It was designed to work around the lack of IPv6 support on many routers. When we are able to fully use IPV6 these network connection problems caused by routers (or often more than one router, like a gateway + router or at a college dorm) will not be a problem anymore.
