Aug 12, 2017 · The Modem and 1st Asus Router were purchased at the same time with a Monster Power Strip. The 2nd Asus was replaced with no additional hardware. So still the same Modem and Power Strip. Those two things are the only constants. I still have the 1st Asus with its box and power supply, as well as the 2nd Asus's box. First, connect the computer to one of the yellow ports on the Asus access point and switch it on. Once booted, we can set the Asus back to factory mode by pressing and holding the reset button for about 3 seconds. If done correctly, you will see the power led blink a few times and switch off for the reset process. There is not much configuration that you need to do if you go direct ONT, just plug your router to the nucleus connect device and you are good to go. You only have to configure your wireless settings. It is not automatic switching. I would suggest you to get them to have different SSiD, eg ASUS 2.4GHz and ASUS 5GHz.
